Academia-Industry Collaboration: We have established an expert workstation with Tsinghua University Association of Senior Scientists and Technicians, and set up joint R&D laboratories with Shandong University and Beijing University of Technology. Smedic acts as a key commercialization partner for Peking University and Tianjin University, transforming frontier research into field-ready flocculant applications.
Industrial wastewater treatment requires dynamic molecular interactions. Smedic engineers polymer systems based on electrostatic patch mechanisms, polymeric bridging, and target charge neutralization.
Determining the precise cationic or anionic density is vital to avoid colloid restabilization. Our Cationic Polyacrylamides (CPAM) range from 5% to 80% charge densities, allowing exact calibration for municipal sludge conditioning or industrial protein extraction.
Benefiting from proximity to domestic petrochemical upstream assets (Acrylonitrile, Acrylic Acid), Smedic provides competitive pricing and reliable volume availability, bypasses raw material volatility, and ensures uninterrupted industrial supply.
We conform to modern procurement parameters: low monomer leakage (acrylamide levels < 0.05% for critical processes), rapid dissolution times (under 60 minutes), and extended structural stability in highly saline process waters.
To operate safely across diverse international jurisdictions, chemical products must adhere strictly to environmental safety regulations. Smedic's range of water treatment products is manufactured to comply with:
Wastewater chemical requirements differ extensively by physical geology, discharge regulations, and industrial focus. Smedic engineers localized answers for:
Our global distribution division understands the challenges of marine transport, humidity during transit, and long-term storage of hygroscopic powder polymers. Smedic offers robust packaging solutions, including:
The next decade of environmental chemistry is defined by efficiency and circularity. Our Tsinghua and university joint R&D labs focus heavily on:
We have been granted over sixty Chinese patents, including more than forty invention patents and over twenty utility model patents. We have led the drafting of more than ten national and industry standards, including those for composite carbon sources, composite coagulants, sodium acetate, and nitrifying and denitrifying bacterial agents.
Our independently developed "Inorganic-Organic Covalent Bond Flocculant and Its Advanced Water Purification Technology" has won multiple awards, including the 22nd China Patent Award, the First Prize for Technological Invention from the China Petrochemical Industry Association, the Hebei Province Science and Technology Progress Award, and recognition as a Belt and Road SME Recommended Project.
The patented technologies and products we have independently developed, such as the bio-enhanced denitrification carbon source and the deep multi-nuclear phosphorus removal agent, have passed the scientific and technological achievement evaluation conducted by the Science and Technology Department of Hebei Province. These achievements have been appraised as "internationally advanced" and have filled a domestic gap in this product category.
We have been recognized as the "Leading Brand of Advanced Wastewater Treatment Chemicals" and the "Most Valuable Water Treatment Chemicals Brand" by China Water Network and the E20 Environmental Platform for four consecutive years.
Smedic maintains long-term supply agreements and technical development pipelines with premier water groups: Shouchuang Ecological and Environmental Group, Yangtze River Ecological and Environmental Group, Beijing Enterprises Water Group (BEWG), OriginWater, and China Water Environment Group, serving as their qualified centralized procurement supplier.

Key insights for global procurement managers, chemical engineers, and environmental consultants looking to source water treatment agents from China.
Choosing the correct PAM involves identifying your wastewater type: Cationic Polyacrylamide (CPAM) is ideal for organic-rich wastes (like municipal sludge, slaughterhouse effluents) due to charge neutralization with negatively charged organic particles. Anionic Polyacrylamide (APAM) is utilized for inorganic suspended particles (mining tailings, steel industry wash water, sand wash) because of the polymer bridging mechanism. Non-Ionic Polyacrylamide (NPAM) is highly effective under low pH, acid-resistant or highly saline oilfield recovery scenarios. Conducting a jar test is critical to determine the dosage, settling rate, and filter cake dryness.
Dry powder polymers are highly hygroscopic and should be stored in dry, cool warehouses with temperatures below 35°C. Exposure to humidity causes clumping, which makes the product difficult to dissolve. Liquid defoamers and emulsion polymers should be protected from freezing during winter transit. Properly sealed multi-wall bags with PE lining are standard for international sea freight to prevent degradation from high maritime humidity levels.
In general, Anionic and Non-Ionic Polyacrylamide powders take 40 to 60 minutes to dissolve completely in clean water, while Cationic PAM takes 50 to 90 minutes. The dissolution water temperature should be between 20°C and 40°C. Water above 50°C degrades the polymer chains, severely reducing the flocculation efficiency. Smedic's formulation design ensures fast dissolution and avoids "fish-eye" formation through optimized granule size distribution.
Separate dosing of inorganic coagulants (like PAC or PFS) followed by organic flocculants (PAM) requires two dosing systems and careful monitoring. Smedic’s award-winning Inorganic-Organic Covalent Bond Flocculant merges both mechanisms into a single polymeric molecule. This triggers simultaneous charge neutralization and macro-floc bridging, reducing processing footprints, lowering overall chemical expenditures, and producing denser sludge flocs that are easier to dewater.
As a National Key-Supported Specialized "Little Giant" Enterprise, Smedic employs automated polymerization reactors and advanced post-polymerization processing. This ensures that the molecular weight distribution remains within a tight, reproducible range. We control free acrylamide monomer levels strictly under 0.05% (500 ppm), which meets the requirements for public utilities, agricultural discharge, and municipal drinking water projects.
